Merthyr Ruxton



Merthyr Ruxton paints from her studio on the Tawharanui Peninsular, one hour north of Auckland.

Her work is abstract  with references to land and plant forms.  She paints in oil paint and vinyl tempera and the method is principally gestural.

She has exhibited in France, Hong Kong, Singapore and South America.  She is represented by OBV, Railway Street Studios and NorthART galleries in New Zealand.

In  2020 she was shortlisted for the Parkin Art Prize – this was the third time she has been shortlisted for this award.

Merthyr has also been shortlisted for the NZPPA award this year.
